Information on the authenticity of product reviews

DERMASENCE offers website visitors the opportunity to leave a review of the respective product on product pages.

Authors of reviews confirm, by completing the review form, that they have written the review based on their own personal experience. DERMASENCE does not verify whether the authors of the reviews have actually used the product.

When product reviews are approved, DERMASENCE manually checks whether the reviews comply with the terms of use. If product reviews violate these terms, they will not be published.

DERMASENCE promotes selected products with reviews that were created as part of internal product tests (so-called “DERMASENCE Product Checks”). Reviews may only be submitted by participants of the DERMASENCE Product Check.
 

Technical measures to ensure authenticity

After applying, participants are selected as product testers via a digital application form in which, among other things, their email address and residential address are collected, and they are sent the product to be tested. The basis for their review is a test phase lasting several weeks, followed by the submission of the review via a digital review form. Participants receive the invitation to submit a review by email. When completing the review form, their email address is transmitted to DERMASENCE again, meaning that each review can be assigned to an email address. The email address therefore always serves as a verifiable reference to ensure the authenticity of the review. Submitting a review without prior application and selection as a tester is excluded, as only reviews associated with email addresses that meet these criteria are permitted; multiple reviews per email address are also excluded.
 

Manual measures to ensure authenticity

In addition to the technical measures, DERMASENCE also manually checks all Product Check reviews for authenticity. Reviews are examined for any content-related irregularities. If such irregularities are identified, the functionality of the technical measures is reviewed. Where necessary, the participating person may be contacted or the review deleted.
